Current volunteer opportunities include:
- Housing Discrimination Investigator (sometimes referred to as Fair Housing Tester): This valuable role comes with compensation: a modest monetary stipend and the knowledge that you have furthered equal housing opportunity in your own north suburban backyard. - Library Liaison: Help others know that help and resources are near – by posting flyers and stocking the literature racks at libraries and other pubic venues in your suburb with our brochures and fact sheets. Maximum of twice a year (April and September) commitment at 14 suburban libraries and other community sites.
- Coffee Klatch Coordinator: Host a series of “coffee klatches” for your book group, school group, seniors club, local clergy, or block club – that features on of our videos about a housing justice issue.
- Help us do the work of housing justice: Invite us to speak to your students, congregation, neighbors, or civic group on any number of issues (foreclosure prevention, the lack of affordability in your community, community land trusts, tools for creating affordable housing).
- Host our traveling exhibit, A History of Equal Housing in the Northern Suburbs.
- General Support: Strengthen your community's connection with Interfaith by linking to our website. Invite us to your meetings/workshops. Publish notices about Interfaith's events in your newsletter. Volunteer at our office in Winnetka -- a block from the Metra line -- to help with mailings, phone calls, etc.
