Funding for the Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs comes from membership fees, grants and individual contributions. The funds are used to operate our housing programs, maintain our office, hire and train staff, and support the community activism of our many members.

Financial Contributions

Contributions from individual donors are an important source of unrestricted funding for the Interfaith Housing Center.  There are two easy ways to donate.

Rayna & Marvin Miller Fund to Benefit Interfaith Housing Center

The Miller Fund was established in May 2008 by the family of Rayna and Marvin Miller to ensure that Interfaith can continue its mission for years to come. What Your Donation to the Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs Accomplishes!

$10 - Builds a broad-based, grassroots movement for diverse, inclusive, and integrated housing in Chicago’s northern suburbs.

$35 - Educates one family, clergy member, business leader, local government leader, or landlord about fair housing rights and responsibilities.

$50 - Catalyzes residents to band together at the grassroots level to advocate for affordable and accessible housing in their suburb.

$100
- Provides advocacy & organizing help for families living in one substandard rental building to get repairs from their landlord.

$300 - Enforces the fair housing rights of one person or family seeking housing in the northern suburbs.

$500 - Prevents foreclosure for one homeowner.

$1,000 - Ensures that a senior or single parent remains in her or his home, or secures housing for a low-wage worker, through Homesharing.

$2,000 - Creates permanent, affordable housing for 2 households through Homesharing: a homeowner struggling with expenses, and an individual otherwise unable to afford to live near work and family.
